Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join a prestigious national law firm.
This firm is looking for a highly motivated associate with 3-4 years of labor & employment litigation experience to join its nationally recognized Labor & Employment Practice Group. The position is available in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage California wage and hour class action litigation, PAGA claims, and single plaintiff employment litigation.
- Provide guidance on employee handbooks and day-to-day labor and employment counseling.
- Handle discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
- Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- JD from an ABA-approved law school.
- 3-4 years of labor & employment litigation experience.
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
- Experience with California-specific labor laws, including PAGA claims and wage & hour disputes.
- Strong legal writing and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Background in trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and depositions preferred.
- Proven ability to thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $260,000 - $310,000 annually (based on experience and other job-related factors).
