What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Attorney - Civil position at Direct Counsel?
Direct Counsel is looking for an attorney of 3-5 years’ experience in litigation, preferably in defense. Ideal candidates will have a strong litigation background including trial experience in a first or second chair capacity in general civil litigation and have a desire to join a Litigation Practice. Qualified candidates must be highly organized, possess attention to detail, excellent writing skills and advocates for clients aggressively.
Requirements:- Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception to completion
- Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects
- Prepare pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies
- Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, status reports and other services to clients and claims on legal and factual issues
- Responsible for the prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases
- Independently prepares and presents witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, arbitrations and mediations
Qualifications:
- Motivated with the desire to achieve top level results
- The ability to work well with a team as well as work well independently
- Must have a minimum of 3 plus years of solid experience in litigation in State Courts
