Maritime Litigation Staff Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a staff attorney with 3-5 years of maritime litigation experience to join a leading law firm’s dynamic Maritime Litigation Practice in New York. This role offers an excellent opportunity to handle complex maritime disputes and regulatory matters within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in maritime litigation matters, including cargo disputes, marine casualties, and regulatory issues
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and case analysis
• Manage cases and interact with clients and opposing counsel
• Work collaboratively with senior attorneys on litigation strategy

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in maritime litigation or a related practice area
• Law firm or marine insurance company experience preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills
• Familiarity with maritime contracts and regulatory matters
• Ability to work both independently and within a team

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $165,000 - $188,000, based on experience
