Mid-Level Employment Associate Attorney (NJ or NY)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Associate to join a leading law firm’s Employment & Labor group in Short Hills, NJ, or New York, NY . This role is ideal for an employment attorney with 3-4 years of experience looking to gain hands-on experience in litigation, advisory work, and transactional employment matters.
Key Responsibilities :
- Litigation Management – Assist in handling class action and single-plaintiff employment cases , including wage & hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misclassification, wrongful termination, and breach of contract .
- Employment Law Counseling – Advise clients on employment policies, restrictive covenants, compensation plans, and leave / accommodations issues (FMLA, ADA) .
- Drafting & Negotiation – Draft and negotiate employment, severance, and related agreements .
- Corporate Transactions – Conduct employment due diligence and advise on labor and employment aspects of M&A and other corporate deals .
- Regulatory Compliance – Provide guidance on federal and state employment laws , including wage & hour regulations and anti-discrimination laws.
