This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex patent litigation matters in U.S. federal courts and before the International Trade Commission (ITC), as well as advising clients on patent portfolio development, licensing, and strategy.
Position Overview: The successful candidate will conduct in-depth research and analysis on patent litigation cases, offer strategic advice on patent portfolio development and maintenance, and engage with Japanese companies on patent litigation and negotiation matters. This role also involves assisting with patent licensing strategies and litigation support for clients in high-technology industries.
Key Responsibilities:

Research and analyze technical and legal positions in ongoing patent litigation matters in U.S. federal courts and before the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Advise clients on patent portfolio development and maintenance.

Provide counsel on complex patent disputes, particularly those involving consumer products and services.

Collaborate with Japanese companies for business development, patent litigation, and negotiation.

Assist clients with patent licensing, patent litigation support, and settlement negotiations.
Qualifications:

Master's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.

3 years of experience in patent litigation, including experience in U.S. federal courts and before the ITC.

3 years of experience with the Japanese patent system, including working with the Japanese Patent Office.

3 years of experience negotiating patent licenses with Japanese entities and developing patent licensing strategies.

1 year of experience with IP strategy planning in an in-house setting.

1 year of experience with patent engineering in a high-technology environment.

Must be admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia or another U.S. state or territory.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this full-time role is $225,000 to $435,000 per year, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
