Direct Counsel is seeking a Personal Injury Case Manager to join a growing team. This individual will play a critical role in case development, client communication, and overall case management from intake through settlement. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and empathetic, with a strong ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Communication & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates and providing support throughout the lifecycle of their case.
- Guide clients through the legal process from intake to settlement, ensuring they understand the case status and next steps.
- Case Management & Organization
- Manage a high-volume caseload, maintaining organized, up-to-date case files in both physical and digital formats.
- Handle all aspects of case preparation, from intake to closing, including document gathering, client updates, and attorney communication.
- Medical Records & Documentation
- Order and track medical records from healthcare providers, ensuring all necessary documents are obtained to support injury claims.
- Coordinate with medical providers to ensure proper treatment documentation is secured and presented.
- Collect and organize evidence and documents to support liability claims and injury details.
- Negotiations & Settlements
- Assist attorneys in negotiating settlements with insurance companies, advocating for the client’s best interests.
- Negotiate reductions on outstanding medical bills and liens from providers.
- Prepare comprehensive demand packages, compiling all necessary documents for submission to insurance carriers.
- Collaboration with Legal Team
- Work directly with attorneys, presenting case synopses and ensuring they have all necessary materials to advance each case.
- Collaborate with other case managers, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure seamless support of each case.
- Insurance & Healthcare Provider Communication
- Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to verify account balances, process claims, and settle case payments.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with clients regarding treatment status and case progress.
