Senior Employment Attorney (NJ or NY)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Senior Employment Attorney to join a leading law firm’s Employment & Labor group in Short Hills, NJ, or New York, NY . This is a non-partnership track role, ideal for an experienced employment attorney looking to focus on litigation, advisory work, and transactional employment matters.
Key Responsibilities :
- Litigation Management – Handle class actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes , including wage & hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misclassification, wrongful termination, and breach of contract cases.
- Employment Law Counseling – Advise clients on employment policies, restrictive covenants, compensation structures, commission plans, and leave / accommodations issues (FMLA, ADA) .
- Drafting & Negotiation – Prepare and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and other workplace-related contracts .
- Corporate Transactions – Conduct employment due diligence and advise on labor and employment aspects of M&A and other corporate deals .
- Regulatory Compliance – Provide guidance on federal and state employment laws , including wage & hour regulations, anti-discrimination laws, and compliance best practices.
