The ideal Shop Manager has a hands on, in the shop management style. Successful Managers have had a background and firm understanding of managing a stand alone operation effectively on his/her own. Successful Shop Managers with an operations, production, factory, manufacturing, restaurant chains or military background and experience managing hourly labor employees typically do well in this role.
This position is responsible for Managing the operations of an automotive detail shop with approximately 10 employees. In general, overseeing operations of intake and QC of vehicles in a high production detailing process in collaboration with the operations of a wholesale auto auction. Daily interaction with customers (auto auction operations management, vehicle coordinators, bank reps, fleet account reps, rental car company reps, finance company reps, vehicle remarketing company reps) communication, scheduling, payroll, monitors and communicates shift activities, verifies required information and paperwork, ordering products, tools, chemicals and overall manages inventory of shop supplies. Manager also keeps record and schedules required maintenance of shop equipment such as pressure washers, air compressors, central vacuum system and drains. Anticipating needs and pivoting accordingly due to weather, staffing or volume of vehicles.
Most importantly, the Shop Manager oversees quality control of each vehicle and ensures proper processes are being followed to meet required customer deadlines and QC standards. Perform other duties as assigned by Regional Manager
Qualifications
- Minimal of 3-years supervisor experience in high production, reconditioning, lot operations, restaurant, commercial cleaning service, factory, manufacturing, production or similar fast paced production environment preferably within the automotive industry
- Operations background preferred
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Military experience helpful
- Strong aptitude for communication and interaction skills
- Strong aptitude for managing and organizing production schedules
Work Schedule:
Thursday to Monday. Day Shift, 9am to 5pm.
