Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to join our team at Direct Recruit Agency. As the Director of HIM, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and organization of health information for our clients. You will lead a team of HIM professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure the accurate and timely collection, storage, and retrieval of health information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies and policies for the management of health information
- Oversee the maintenance and security of health records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage and lead a team of HIM professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate collection of health information
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations related to health information management
- Prepare and present reports to upper management on the status of health information management operations
- Develop and manage budgets for the HIM department
- Provide training and development opportunities for HIM staff to ensure their continued growth and success
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIT certification
- Registration with American Health Information Management Association
- Experience with electronic health record systems and other health information technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
