TRAFFIC CONTROL MANAGER / GSF OPERATOR for Directional Traffic, LLC
Directional Traffic LLC’s mission is to be the leader in technology and safety for all temporary worksites on the road in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. We are currently seeking hard-working, dependable, safety-oriented, team players to join our growing company.
Position Summary: The Traffic Manager/GSF Operator orchestrates the construction and removal of traffic patterns, while working in partnership with customers and assigned “Flaggers” to ensure a safe and efficient work zone.
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Description: What's a typical day like? Directional Traffic LLC operates with a flexible schedule, meaning that start and end times vary per site. Each crew member will receive a schedule daily detailing their assignment for the following day. Directional Traffic LLC Traffic Managers/GSF Operators travel to the worksite in company issued vehicles where along with their crew members, they deploy the traffic pattern. Traffic Managers/GSF Operators manage the site throughout the day, assisting Flaggers with the deployment of Automated Flagger Assistance Devices (when Applicable). At the end of the day, the Traffic Managers/GSF Operators remove the traffic pattern from the roadway, complete there site documentation, and return home. Hours vary per day. Workdays may range between 4 & 12 hours per day and may exceed those hours in certain occasions.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Required)·
- Must be able to pass a non-CDL physical (Required)
- Ability to drive a TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuators) Truck (Preferred)
- ATSSA Flagger Certification (Required)
- MD Temporary Traffic Control Manager Certification or Virginia Intermediate Certification (Preferred) – Must obtain these certifications within 90-days of hire if not currently certified.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be able to move and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Flexible schedule
- Be punctual to work, as others are dependent on us to start their job.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude while working in a team environment and be able to communicate clear and precise directions to other crew members.
- Some travel may be required.
- Availability to work a minimum of five days a week.

Responsibilities:
Daily Pre-Departure Duties / Responsibilities:·
- Complete a vehicle inspection on assigned company vehicle to ensure all equipment needed to complete assigned tasks are present.
- Ensure crew members have all equipment to include a hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and assigned radio.
- Ensure all crew members at seated and belted in company vehicle prior to departure.
Daily Work Site Duties / Responsibilities:·
- Establish communication with the customer to determine needs and expectations for assigned work site.
- Construct traffic pattern in a safe and efficient manner utilizing state traffic standards.
- Ensure that all crew members are assigned to a safe and visible location that allows for proper escape routes in case of emergency.
- Complete daily Pre-job form.
- Measure all aspects of the traffic pattern to ensure applicable state standards have been met.
- Conduct multiple visual inspections of the work site to ensure continued safety and efficiency.
- Give 15-minute break every 2 hours to each “flagger” operating on assigned work site as the site allows.
- Report personnel needed for the following day no later than 12PM daily.
- Complete “Customer Ticket” documenting billable time on the work site prior to departure and return to assigned Directional Traffic, LLC office.
Daily End of Shift Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensure assigned company vehicle is cleaned of all trash or debris accumulated during the workday.
- Remove any additional equipment from assigned company vehicle that is not necessary to complete future assigned tasks.
- Ensure that all assigned “Flaggers” return their company issued radios to proper staging location prior to departure from Directional Traffic, LLC office grounds.
- Complete and submit all timesheets, customer tickets, vehicle logs, or other forms pertaining to the recently completed work site prior to departure from Directional Traffic LLC office grounds.
- Be sure to note any time differences and equipment left on site on the timesheet.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
