POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a professional position providing psychiatric services to children and adolescent as part of the Medical Department in the Outpatient services division. The Medical Department serves a wide range of clients and all programs across the agency, including the Families First Division, which serves high risk children and families, and the Housing First Division, which serves high risk and housing unstable children, families and individuals. Programs served by the Medical Department includes both in clinic programs and field based and/or home-based programs.
The Psychiatric APRN is a position providing psychiatric mental health care that includes assessing, diagnosing, medication management, and treating individuals and families with psychiatric and substance use disorders. This includes treating individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, trauma and at risk for violence or suicide. The Psychiatric APRN is responsible for developing treatment plans, completing assessments and outcomes, and working collaboratively as a treatment team. The Psychiatric APRN ensures services are delivered using standards of trauma informed care principles, and that plans and clinical interventions address issues regarding how trauma impacts family functioning, and that plans and interventions use trauma resolution skills. The Psychiatric APRN ensures that services are tailored to the unique culture of the client. This is an office-based position. The Psychiatric APRN is responsible for meeting an annual client facing client care number of 1,316 hours annually. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly and annual client facing client care hours is an essential function of this position.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/ Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and certification required.
- Florida Nursing License
- Must have a valid/current Florida DEA Number
- Must have expert knowledge in prescribing psychotropic medications to treat a wide variety of severe and persistent mental illnesses in children and adolescents.
- Must be proficient in Avatar or other electronic health record.
- Must be able to use Telehealth platform for service delivery, and for team and individual supervision as needed.
