What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Security/Disability Benefits Specialists (SOAR) position at Directions for Living?
Pay Rate: $26.44/hour ($55,000 annually)

Position Summary:
This is a composite position providing case management, supportive interventions, and assistance with benefit enrollment to individuals and families who are homeless. Work involves outreach, access, and recovery services to individuals experiencing homelessness and assisting them with the SSI/SSDI application for benefits. Services are provided in the community. Required to meet client facing hours monthly.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree Social Work or related area of study from an accredited university; or a Master's Degree in Social Work or related area of study, with one year experience preferred.
- Must acquire knowledge of community resources
- Must be computer literate and be proficient in Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word. Must be able to work proficiently in a Windows environment and be able to learn other software applications quickly.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to use personal vehicle to transport clients if and when needed. Must have and maintain clear driving record, must have valid Florida Driver License, maintain required automobile insurance coverage and pass the annual vehicle inspection.
