Job Description

We are seeking a Behavioral Health And Substance Abuse Peer Support Specialist to enhance treatment efforts for our clients. You will provide non-classroom instruction to clients on an individual or group basis.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences
  • Help clients navigate care systems and develop recovery goals
  • Assist in accessing community resources (housing, healthcare, etc.)
  • Facilitate peer-led groups and workshops
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and participate in team meetings
  • Offer crisis support and emotional assistance
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions

Qualifications :

  • Lived Experience : preferably 1-2 years of stable recovery from behavioral health and / or substance use
  • Certification : Peer Support Specialist Certification
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor with the ability to build rapport among clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical proficiency with EHRs
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles
  • Basic computer skills and ability to travel locally
  • Experience in peer support roles or group facilitation
  • Familiarity with community resources and recovery programs
