What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrollment Advisor - North American Office position at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia?
The Enrollment Advisor works with all aspects of DIS admissions : recruiting and contacting students, high-touch advising on DIS programs and the admissions process, reviewing applications, and encouraging prospective students to apply and enroll. You'll work with colleagues across DIS to find solutions, knowing where to turn in order to offer top-notch advising and support. This position includes approximately 6 weeks per year to DIS partner universities across the U.S. to recruit and advise students and meet with education abroad staff and faculty.
This position reports to the Director of Enrollment and is based at the DIS North American Office (St Paul, MN), currently a hybrid work environment.
Job Tasks & Responsibilities
70% Admissions & Advising
- Advise prospective students on DIS academic offerings and application procedures including deadlines and eligibility, often working independently but guided by general procedures
- Communicate with students, parents, and home university advisors regarding admission, registration, and pre-departure preparation
- Review applications and make admission recommendations
- Contribute to strategic messaging for prospective students including phone, email, website, social media, and follow up communication campaigns
- Organize and conduct student admission interviews - scheduling, communication, and coordinating with a team of interviewers
- Assist with the formulation, development, and implementation of admissions-related policies and procedures

DIS - Study Abroad in Scandinavia is a Danish non-profit educational foundation with programs in Copenhagen and Stockholm and a North American Office in St Paul, Minnesota. We offer high-impact semester, academic year, summer, and custom learning experiences taught in English to undergraduate students from distinguished North American colleges and universities. By inspiring each student's curiosity and love of learning, DIS fosters academic achievement, intercultural understanding, and development of life skills essential for engaged citizenship.
Our North American Office consists of 20 international educators who advise, recruit, prepare, enroll, and support prospective and enrolled students. Working closely with 200 U.S. Partner Universities, we build and maintain pathways for study abroad as well as staff and faculty engagement with education abroad.
