About the role

Case Managers manage our clients' cases from start to finish. Our case managers take great pride in the degree of client contact and case involvement they are able to experience each day. Each Case Manager works alongside a specific attorney to create a deeper sense of understanding and investment in each client's unique situation. This position offers a great deal of independence, flexibility for personal styles, and responsibility over case files.

Key responsibilities :

  • Must be fluent in English and Chaldean
  • Preparing and submitting medical documents at each stage of the disability process.
  • Speaking with clients to address their case status, medical updates, and questions.
  • Communicating with Disability Determination Services, Social Security Field Offices, and the Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) to make sure the case is proceeding accordingly.
  • Maintain close communication with partnered attorney(s) to assure information is accurate and updated regarding the client and their case.
  • Answer / make calls regarding medical record review and file preparation.

What you"ll do

As a Case Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients through the Social Security disability claims process. You will ensure seamless communication, meticulous case management, and timely follow-ups to help clients navigate this critical journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

  • Client Communication : Maintain daily communication with clients and the Social Security Administration (Field Offices, Disability Determination Services, Office of Hearing Operations, Appeals Council) to provide updates and address questions.
  • Document Coordination : Email Work Product (WP) to clients along with Medical Source Statements (MSS) and log all incoming mail and faxes, including hardship proofs, client letters, and other important documents.
  • Case File Management : Submit medical records and MSS to DDS / OHO, transfer documentation to appropriate offices (FO / OHO), and upload briefs via Electronic Records Express (ERE).
  • Hearing Preparation : Conduct final development calls for upcoming hearings, request and follow up on medical records two weeks prior to hearings and after, and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Decision Monitoring : Regularly check ERE for updates and decisions from Administrative Law Judges (ALJ) and the Appeals Council, set follow-up steps, and route decisions to appropriate channels for further action.
  • Status Checks : Perform status checks on pre-hearing files 30 days after submission to confirm receipt and accuracy of the appeal (501), resetting follow-up tasks every 60 days as needed.
  • Process Improvement : Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline case workflows and enhance client experiences.
  • This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a client-first mindset. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of individuals seeking Social Security disability benefits.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications :

    1. Education and Experience :

    High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in social work, legal studies, or related field preferred.

  • At least one year of experience in case management, social services, or customer service.
  • 2. Skills :

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Attention to detail in preparing and reviewing medical documents.
  • 3. Interpersonal Abilities :

    Empathy and patience when working with clients with disabilities.

  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with clients, attorneys, and agency representatives.
  • 4. Problem-Solving :

    Proactive in addressing case issues and resolving client concerns.

  • Knowledge of Social Security disability processes or willingness to learn.
  • Desired Qualifications :

    1. Experience :

    Familiarity with Social Security disability claims and legal processes.

    2. Technical Skills :

    Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or CRM systems.

    3. Community Focus :

    Engagement in volunteerism or advocacy for underserved populations.

    The pay range for this role is :

    18 - 22 USD per hour(Disability Law Group)
