Job Description
Disability Services of the Southwest (DSSW) is seeking an Adaptive Aid Specialist to help support our San Antonio office.
What is a DSSW? A three company healthcare organization that serves people with disabilities across Texas by providing home care, nursing, and therapy in their homes. We work hard to make sure our clients are receiving the highest quality of care and we strive to be the bridge that empowers their independence.
The Adaptive Aids Specialist performs clerical duties regarding adaptive aids and minor home modifications and must have office experience,
skill, and knowledge of organizational policies and practices.
Tasks:
Answer and initiate telephone calls regarding adaptive aids and minor home modifications.
Perform duties required in the procurement process for adaptive aids and minor home modifications.
Prepare correspondence forms and reports regarding adaptive aids and minor home modifications.
Obtain bids, specific aids, and evaluations from the appropriate professionals for clients as necessary.
Ensure the adaptive aids and minor home modifications tracking record is maintained and accurate.
Delivery/pick-up of any documentation in regard to adaptive aids within appropriate time frames.
Assure documentation is in order for accurate/prompt billing.
Ensure medical records are current and complete.
Perform follow-up calls and send required documents to the Case Management Agency within required time frames.
Observe confidentiality policies at all times.
Comply with federal, state, & company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience Working With People With Disabilities, Preferred.
Knowledge of adaptive aids and minor home modifications, preferred.
Two (2) years clerical experience in an administrative setting.
CLASS Training provided by the Agency.
DBMD Training provided by the Agency.
Must be able to demonstrate competence with computer applications such as MS Word and Excel and have the ability to readily learn agency specific software.
Must be able to type 35 wpm with 80% accuracy and 80% accuracy in Excel.
