Audiovisual Technician Job Description
A technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of audiovisual systems in hospitality settings, guaranteeing complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate basic/ small-scale audiovisual equipment accurately and efficiently, adhering to technical specifications.
- Maintain clear communication with guests on-site, verifying that their needs are met and equipment is functioning correctly.
- Monitor events throughout the day, checking in with customers as needed.
- Demonstrate technical expertise by troubleshooting and resolving equipment/software issues.
- Handle equipment challenges and changes promptly and professionally.
- Upsell floor products to increase revenue.
Requirements:
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment (preferred).
- Meet all training and certification requirements determined by Encore's Global Learning Training Program.
Work Environment:
The work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment, exposing team members to moderate outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. They will use high-end audio-visual equipment, electrical components, and be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Working times include irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
