Pre-Construction Detailing and Take-Off Specialist
A leading Missoula HVAC company with a 47-year history of excellence is hiring a Pre-Construction Detailing and Take-Off Specialist. This role is for someone with a solid foundation in the mechanical and plumbing sectors and it is a pivotal role in ensuring precise, efficient and detailed pre-construction planning, contributing to the overall success of projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Detailing :
Create comprehensive 3D models using Revit for mechanical and plumbing systems.
Work with architects, engineers and construction teams to ensure designs are practical and align with project specifications.
Spot potential issues in the design phase and suggest solutions to mitigate risks. Take-Offs and Estimating :
Conduct detailed material take-offs using Trimble MEP estimating software for accurate cost estimations.
Use Trimble Scanning and Layout Tools for precise measurement and estimation tasks.
Prepare and review bid packages, ensuring all necessary components and labor are included in the estimates.
Analyze project plans to identify and quantify material requirements, labor costs and time frames. Collaboration and Communication :
Collaborate with project managers, engineers and construction teams for seamless communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in pre-construction meetings, providing insights and technical expertise to support project planning and execution.
Assist in value engineering processes to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

Hours : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.

Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-construction detailing and take-off, specifically in the mechanical and plumbing fields.
Proven expertise in using Trimble for measurement and estimation tasks.
Extensive experience with Revit for 3D modeling.
Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Advanced knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations related to mechanical and plumbing systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and prioritizing effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred. Certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP) or Estimating (e.g. ASPE) a plus.
