Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible to assist with processing surgical instruments / supplies so they are ready for use by the surgical team and other departments within the hospital system.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of decontamination equipment.
Undertakes manual cleaning of instruments and equipment to remove contaminates.
Retrieves contaminated supplies and delivers sterile supplies to where needed.
Responsible for setting up of case carts for the Endoscopy Room after consulting its schedule and requisitions.
Responsible for monitoring biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistence for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives.
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
Preferred Job Requirements :
Basic Life Support certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
