Description
Role: Operate the Disability Supports Clayworks Retail Site.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- At all times, serve as a professional and positive steward and ambassador for all aspects of the program.
- Run point of sale cash purchases and credit card transactions.
- Promote the Clayworks Program to shoppers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Work collaboratively and in a positive manner with all staff and clients associated with the program.
- Participate in downtown and/or civic programs to promote goodwill for the program and the products as assigned.
- Participate in internet based retail transactions as assigned.
- Maintain all facilities to the highest possible standards.
- Other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Expectations:
- Prompt, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Understand and support the mission statement of Disability Supports to enrich the lives of those we serve, as evidenced by an unfailing positive attitude in all actions on behalf of individuals served.
- Adhere to scheduled hours.Shifts will vary.
- Meet agency standards of necessary supports to ensure the safety, happiness and well-being of individuals served.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Retail experience preferred. General understanding of the importance of customer service is essential.
Education: High School diploma preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and the general public. Must demonstrate compassion and respect for individuals with disabilities.
Other Skills: Basic mathematical skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office Products required.
Physical/Environmental: Moderate noises such as experienced in a business office or small commercial setting. Travel required to transport transactions and paper work between store and office. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Ability to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
