Secretaries provide routine administrative and secretarial support to National Service Officers including reception activities, correspondence, reports, and records maintenance. May perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature.
Essential Functions :
- Operate personal computer to access the internet, e-mail, electronic calendars and other office support software
- Type correspondence and reports using personal computer
- Locate and compile information, written correspondence, reports and tables / charts using knowledge of scientific, medical, legal or other technical terms
- Establish and maintain office / clientele files
- Answer telephone, screen callers, relay messages, greet visitors and answer general veterans’ benefits questions
- Open, sort and screen mail
- Handle membership payments
- Pick up and deliver materials as required
- Operate office equipment such as photocopier and facsimile machine
- Performs other support staff activities as directed by office Supervisor(s) and Lead Secretary
