Warehouse Associate (Part-time: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Title: Warehouse Associate

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Hours: Part-time (no more than 30 hours a week)

Location: Lanham, MD

Reports To: Anicia Charles, HR Assistant & Warehouse Manager

The Mission: The Disabled Veterans National Foundation is a non-profit organization that strives to provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded, physically or psychologically, after defending our safety and our freedom. We achieve our mission by providing financial assistance to veteran organizations and by supporting veterans through our various programs.

Job Summary: A Warehouse Associate is a professional who is responsible for fulfilling the logistics behind receiving, processing and storing inventory according to the organization's policy. They also ensure that shipping schedules are met with attention to detail to ensure timely delivery and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Warehouse Manager with all warehouse needs
• Keep an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse
• Provide training and guidance to volunteers when necessary
• Supervise volunteers when necessary
• Manage all inventory with appropriate care and communicate inventory needs to the appropriate personnel
• Identify any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor
• Assemble Health & Comfort kits
• Break down pallets and clear trash
• Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse, office and bathrooms
• Sort through and organize items
• Pull requested items for kits
• Ensure safety of warehouse environment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Employee must be able to:

• High School Diploma Required
• Lift up to 65 pounds
• Work in a warehouse environment
• Stand for 3-4 hours at a time
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to have a flexible schedule
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to use warehouse equipment (example: pallet jacks, pallet lift jack)
