POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Ownership of financial statement integrity, ensuring GAAP-compliant statements are accurate and produced on time.
- Ownership of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting; reviews monthly financial statements and flux analysis.
- Lead project management and execution of all financial SEC filings, ensuring calendars, timely adherence, accuracy, and defining roles and responsibilities.
- Manage and oversee compliance with all SOX 404b/integrated audit requirements and maintain robust internal controls.
- Oversee and maintain strong controls and processes in the global accounting operations; implement, maintain, and review internal controls and corporate policies and procedures for SOX compliance under integrated audit
- Oversight equity accounting requirements, including stock-based compensation and related disclosures.
- Partner with the CFO to oversee treasury operations, cash management, treasury compliance,
- Prepare executive financial reporting and presentations for the Board of Directors and audit committee.
- Provide accounting guidance for proposed transactions to support due diligence, special transactions, and acquisition-related accounting needs.
- Anticipate and ensure development and maintenance of robust, scalable global accounting capabilities (processes, systems, policies/procedures, organization and compliance) to support the company's rapid growth.
- Responsible for the overall integrity of the general ledger structure, including account setup and working with the IT team to ensure the ERP system runs efficiently and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders that lead to the highest levels of collaboration and effectiveness.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Develop the team's capacity to act as strategic business partners across the organization.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience in publicly traded companies and the life sciences/biotech sector.
- CPA certification is required.
- Extensive experience with GAAP, IFRS, SEC financial reporting, and SOX compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and financial planning tools.
- Advanced knowledge of equity accounting and technical accounting standards.
- Proven track-record high-growth environments, with exposure to global operations and commercialization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, drive cross-functional collaboration, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on and solutions-oriented, with a strong ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
