DISC Village, a non-profit community-based agency, has been in operation for over 50 years and is one of the largest and most comprehensive prevention, intervention and treatment agencies in Florida. Through the years, DISC Village has become recognized as a leader in the state for initiating, managing and coordinating substance abuse prevention/intervention, family welfare and delinquency programs in Leon County and North Florida.
We are looking for a dedicated Community Liaison/Resources Coordinator to support the communities in Wakulla, Taylor, Jefferson, and Madison Counties affected by Hurricane Helene. This role involves facilitating access to the Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) and building strong relationships with local organizations. This is a full-time, seasonal role with an expected duration of approximately 9 months.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Facilitate CCP access and foster relationships with local communities.
- Serve as a cultural broker and liaison between the CCP and cultural groups.
- Provide intensive resource linkages for survivors needing disaster relief assistance.
- Network with community resources to establish referral mechanisms.
- Conduct training sessions for crisis counselors and other service providers on referral resources and mechanisms.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
- Willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related travel (travel reimbursement available).
