Position Summary: Responsible for deliveries of the Company’s insourced and outsourced fabrication of parts and for material readiness. This includes working with the BUs and all of operations as to planning along with vendors and suppliers on scheduling, and delivery, thus ensuring timely and accurate receipt of all materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge and ability to identify and update SIPOC (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Output, Customers) for the entire transformation process.
  • Execute performance excellence strategy and initiatives that deliver continuous improvement, culture transformation, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Work directly with the fabrication, inventory, purchasing, and suppliers to coordinate and lead improvement initiatives resulting in clear deliverables (inputs and outputs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager as needed.
  • Work with the Inventory department to maintain accurate information regarding pricing, inventory stock levels, releases, and order status within Jobscope.
  • Ensure that all contract administration procedures are followed and executed professionally.
  • Liaise where appropriate between internal customers and suppliers, advising them of all new and future procedures, relevant information, and updates as and when required.
  • Monitor and manage the needs and demands that changing business opportunities may present.
  • Drive breakthrough and operational performance improvement through hands-on issue identification, delivery, and training.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide direction, feedback, and KPI measurements.
  • Build strong working relationships with other functional leaders in the company, including those in each campus location on the production floor and in inventory, assembly, sub-Assembly, wiring, procurement, engineering, order management, sales & marketing, project management, operations support, quality, finance and human resources to ensure organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor team and provide guidance for team member goal development and realization
  • Manage employees and hands-on operation of the company’s fabrication manufacturing functions, whether in-house or sub-contracted. This should include all planning and material readiness a week before needed and on the appropriate lanes a week before sub-assembly on each campus of the production floor.
  • Manage production release team to ensure releases are delivered to the fabrication department in a timely manner to meet the goals of the production schedule.
  • Deliver reports for the department KPI’s at monthly operational meetings and lead the continuous improvement process for Fabrication.
  • Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness.
  • Work closely with the production and purchasing teams to meet manufacturing plans and material readiness
  • Play an active role in negotiations with manufacturing partners.
  • Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins.
  • Direct all production control, production process development, purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities as it relates to incoming and outgoing materials for the fabrication department
  • Partner with production managers, production release team and project management teams to enable them to meet with customers to discuss and set scheduling timelines for product delivery.
  • Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job through normal working hours.

Education And/or Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in production manufacturing engineering, fab management and/or operations of high-volume IC manufacturing in a certified manufacturing organization (ISO9000).
  • Experience in materials management, from planning through purchasing, and negotiation and administration of multi-million-dollar procurement agreements.
  • Established relationships with the full range sub-contract manufacturers and familiarity with their capabilities, pricing strategies, and negotiation tactics.

Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times on the production floor but minimal in the office.
