Dairy Associate (Independence)

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dairy Associate to join our team. As a Dairy/Stock Associate, you will be responsible for various tasks related to inventory control, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized dairy section. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

- Receive and unload dairy products from delivery trucks

- Order, stock, and rotate dairy products on shelves and in refrigerated sections

- Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of products

- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering as needed

- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and locating products

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dairy section, including regular cleaning of shelves, coolers, and display cases

- Follow proper food safety protocols to ensure product quality and freshness

- Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals

Experience:

- Previous experience in a retail or warehouse setting is preferred

- Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures

- Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if applicable)

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling products

- Excellent customer service skills

- Basic math skills for retail calculations

Skills:

- Sales: Ability to assist customers with their purchases and provide product recommendations

- Inventory control: Knowledge of maintaining accurate inventory levels and conducting stock counts

- Package: Ability to handle and package dairy products safely and efficiently

- Heavy lifting: Capability to lift heavy items, up to [insert weight limit]

- Load/unload: Proficiency in loading and unloading dairy products from delivery trucks or storage areas

- Maintain: Dedication to keeping the dairy section clean, organized, and well-stocked

- Retail math: Basic math skills for pricing, discounts, and cash handling

- Clean: Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dairy section

· Stocking shelves: Regularly replenish dairy products on shelves, ensuring proper rotation to prioritize older items first.

· Inventory management: Monitor stock levels and order new dairy products as needed to avoid shortages.

· Product quality checks: Inspect dairy items for damage, expiration dates, and proper temperature control.

· Cleaning and sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of dairy cases, shelves, and surrounding areas.

· Customer service: Assist customers with finding dairy products, answer questions about ingredients and nutritional information, and handle customer concerns.

· Pricing and labeling: Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of dairy items.

· Display presentation: Create attractive and organized displays of dairy products.

· Compliance with regulations: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
