The IT Payment Solutions Manager will lead an IT team of payment solutions experts responsible for providing seamless, secure, and innovative payment options to customers across 1,200 store locations and eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with PCI standards, and drive advancements in payment technologies and solutions. Builds and manages a high-performance team to achieve department objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of payment solutions experts.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Omni-Channel, Fleet, New Revenue, Finance, Accounting, and Treasury teams.
- Address topics such as payment opportunities, acquisitions, payment roadmaps, projects, and operations.
- eCommerce Collaboration:
- Partner with the Web team to implement payment enhancements on eCommerce platforms.
- PCI Compliance:
- Collaborate with IT Security to support and maintain a PCI-compliant environment.
- Vendor & Ecosystem Management:
- Serve as the IT Relationship Owner for POS Payment Service Providers to ensure operational stability.
- Work with vendors to define payment service enhancements and coordinate with POS application teams to support new functionality.
- Working with the business payments leader, establish strong technical partnerships with vendors across the payment ecosystem, including:
- Payment processors
- Gateways
- Fraud management solutions
- Major card brands
- Private label card providers
- Alternative payment solution providers
- Other payments-related responsibilities as needed to fulfil the business needs for Discount Tire.
- Expertise in payment processors like WorldPay and Payment Tech or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with card tokenization and EMV (chip and contactless) specifications
- Experience with digital wallets (ApplePay, GooglePay) and alternative payment methods (e.g., PayPal, Affirm)
- Knowledge of WorldPay 610 RAFT and Native RAFT specifications preferred
- Experience with Synchrony private label card processing preferred
- Understanding of card fraud management for eCommerce
- Exposure to Text 2 Pay solutions
- Hardware Management:
- Oversee payment hardware including:
- Verifone M440, v400m, and E280s V2 or similar experience
- Both SCA and XPI configurations
- VHQ Management Platform
- This position requires a minimum of two years as a Supervisor or Asst Manager.
- A minimum of seven years professional experience with development of solutions for integrating applications across multiple business functions required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is needed.
- Expert ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas both verbally and in writing is necessary.
- Excellent analytical, planning and negotiation skills are needed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the expert ability to develop strong relationships with key members of both internal and vendor teams.
- Demonstrated business acumen with an expert knowledge and understanding of business issues, priorities, goals, and strategy is necessary.
- Must be highly organized, extremely detail oriented with strong leadership experience.
