Position Summary:
The Before & After School Site Director plays a vital leadership role in ensuring that our programs meet all quality and compliance standards. This position requires a highly qualified individual with a valid Florida Child Care Director’s Credential and at least two years of childcare management experience. The Site Director will supervise staff, maintain strong communication with school administration and area managers, and create structured, engaging programs that meet students’ educational and recreational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the successful implementation of before- and after-school programs in compliance with district policies and state regulations.
- Lead, train, and supervise program staff to maintain a high standard of childcare and education.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with school administration, staff, parents, and students.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for billing, attendance, and staff/child health and safety.
- Create and manage a structured program that balances educational and recreational activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, school administrators, and students.
- Foster an inclusive environment and model positive behavior to encourage students’ personal and academic growth.
Qualifications (Must Have):
- Valid Florida Child Care Director’s Credential (MANDATORY)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare management
- 45 Hours of DCF Child Care Training
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Satisfactory Criminal Background & Drug Screening
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Must live locally and have reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Expectations & Work Schedule:
- Part-time: August 2025 - May 2026
- Monday - Friday
- Morning Care: 6:45 AM - 9:00 AM
- After Care: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, 1:30PM - 6:00PM (Wednesdays)
- Pay: $17-$19 per hour, biweekly, based on credentials and experience
Discover After School Seasonal Camp Opportunity Disclosure:
At Discover After School, our main employment period is from August to June, with seasonal camp opportunities available during breaks. Staffing for camps depends on student enrollment, so not all staff may work during seasonal camp breaks. We conduct a survey at the end of each season to determine who is interested in working seasonal camps.
Managers choose top counselors based on their work ethics and reliability, emphasizing factors like attendance and punctuality because camp is a full-day commitment and requires dependable staff. Additionally, we survey employees at the end of the school year to confirm who will return for the next school year. Returning employees are guaranteed a position with a good recommendation from their manager.
