POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. Key responsibilities include print and digital design, photography, videography, visual editing, and brand maintenance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce on-brand print and digital design including, but not limited to, graphics for social media, web, and newsletters; collateral and promotional materials; office supplies; giveaways; signage; and trade show displays
- Produce photography for web, social channels, and print publications
- Collaborate with and support leadership, business development team, and visitor experience team with requests including, but not limited to, proposal design, photography, maps, signs, and sales campaign design
- Actively participate in marketing campaign and brand awareness strategies
- Create promotional videos/TikToks and do video editing
- Help maintain strong brand for Discover Ames
- Create and maintain digital displays at airport, in Discover Ames office, and at Ames 1864
- Update website
- Order branded apparel
- Create PowerPoint and other presentations for meetings and events
- Coordinate orders for business cards and name tags (staff, ambassadors & board)
- Assist staff as needed with projects related to promotions, special events, sales leads, and group tours
- Potentially assist with technical aspects of a proposed Discover Ames podcast
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years’ experience in marketing, graphic design, photography and/or videography
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience with photography/videography and related software (i.e., Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Experience with WordPress or similar website platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Detailed oriented
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
- Ability to lift materials up to 35 lbs.
- Professional appearance
- Experience producing podcasts preferred but not required
