Job Description : What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Manager Application Development, you will be responsible for the technical development and quality delivery of software engineering solutions. You will lead a team of engineers within a Discover application development area while using your technical expertise to drive vision into action and results.

How You’ll Do It

Manages software ownership and development from initial concept through continuous improvement.

Mentor and lead a staff of engineers in both technical and soft skills to craft a team of highly technically competent, consistent, thoughtful and customer-centric technology experts. This includes ensuring the group adheres to principles of engineering excellence.

Hire, retain and lead a high-functioning, diverse group of engineering professionals, establishing clear objectives and key results, developing a consistent set of practices and processes across the team and driving towards resolution of challenging problems.

Lead and shape the technical vision within their product team and be an essential member of the leadership team, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, compliance and audit requirements.

Manage vendor relationships and associated costs, contracts, etc.

Work with key stakeholders to efficiently allocate team members to product teams to meet business objectives.

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

Bachelors in Information Technology or related field

8 years Application Development experience

2 years People Management experience

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

Primarily remain in a stationary position.

No required movement about the work environment to complete the major responsibilities of the job.

Primarily performed indoors in an office setting.

Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer, and calculator.

Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.

Contact Center technologies (telecom, workforce management, workforce engagement, CCaaS, etc)

Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Compensation : The base pay for this position generally ranges between $129,000.00 to $217,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
