Pay : $64,000-$68,000

Work Schedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm

This full-time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life / Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty and bereavement leave. JOB SUMMARY :

The Grants Administrator – Government Agencies will execute Goodwill of Colorado’s Grants Strategy as the lead on grant Requests for Proposal (RFP) and applications sourced primarily through Federal, State, and local government agencies. The Administrator owns and executes the process to include : identifying prospective funders and opportunities, writing robust narratives, compiling all required and relevant data / information / statistics necessary to justify fundings, preparing competitive and polished deliverables in compliance with guidelines, and managing timely submissions. This role is responsible for fostering ongoing relationships with governmental grantors, and for fulfilling all periodic reporting requirements.

This position will report to the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Metro Denver and also collaborate with the VP of Marketing and Development, and Programs staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Secure Grant Revenue :

  • Responsible for meeting grants revenue goal related to government funding.

Manage and Execute Grant Proposal Process :

Responsible for adapting government proposal budgets, created by and received from program staff, as appropriate to each application / grant opportunity. The Grants Administrator will work in partnership with program staff, the Senior Director, Community Impact, and the Chief Mission Officer.

Regularly reviews bid sites for RFPs to identify those that align with the core skills of the Community Impact and Contracts Divisions.

Research and analyze funding opportunities to identify those that align with Goodwill of Colorado’s mission and programs, existing and projected.

Attend information sessions and funder trainings as related to the funding opportunities being pursued.

Develop and write robust, high-quality grant proposals and reports. Engage internal subject matter experts when necessary.

Work internally with program staff to ensure accurate program narratives and current program statistics are conveyed in proposals.

Research and compile relevant census data and other data and statistics that justify the funding request.

Prepare and compile all components of each grant submission, ensuring the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency’s requirements.

Manage relationships with grantors including communications before, during, and after application submission, including coordinating funder site visits.

Adhere to all reporting deadlines. Ensure progress reports and associated compliance information are submitted on time.

Maintain Grant Records, Documentation, and Working Knowledge :

Populate systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related information.

Maintain library of reference documentation, including funding agency requirements and forms, funder communication, grant agreements and compliance documentation.

Create and keep current library of boilerplate language, statistics, and frequently cited information.

Actively cultivate currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.

Stay current on government trends that align with Goodwill’s program ecology to understand the political environment and the implications for funding.

Develop and Cultivate Funding Pipeline :

Conduct research and identify funding opportunities from Federal, State, and local government funding sources.

Manage a pipeline of donors, prospects and qualified leads and implement strategies to renew, upgrade and convert prospects.

Cultivate relationships with donors and prospects, developing and executing engagement strategies and touch points.

Provide monthly pipeline reporting and recommend next steps to Director and VP.

Foster Internal Working Relationships :

Work closely with the Foundations Grants Administrator. The Government Agencies Administrator may support efforts in the Foundations channel depending on workload.

Maintain close communication with the Vice President of Marketing and Development and the Director of Strategic Partnerships Denver Metro to provide strategy adjustments, pipeline updates, and to troubleshoot.

Maintain close communication with the Senior Director of Community Impact and Chief Mission Officer to ensure awareness of programmatic changes.

Participate in regular team meetings with the Development team.

Maintain a strong, communicative relationship with Marketing as the Grants Administrator will frequently need to request content (success stories, etc.). Support development of high-profile marketing pieces to share with prospects and funders.

Provide support onsite at Development events when requested.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field is required.
  • Experience :

    A minimum of 3 years’ grant writing experience required, specifically including soliciting governmental agencies, with consistent track record of awarded grants.

    A minimum of 3 years managing a non-profit grants portfolio.

    A minimum of 3 years of experience with grant prospecting, utilizing grant prospecting tools and databases.

    Experience in business development, fundraising, or programs is a plus.

    Other :

    Adept at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

    Adept at interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions and dealing with abstract and concrete variables, and confident in interpreting construction specifications and diagrams accurately.

    Comfortable exercising strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Strong working knowledge of grant prospecting tools.

    Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint and skilled at creating presentations for an executive audience.

    Good working knowledge of project management software and contact management software.

    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Fluent with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams.

  • Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements : For applicants / employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least :
  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),

    25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,

    21 years of age for CDL.
