What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) position at DISCOVER RECOVERY?
Discover Recovery is and will continue to be an innovative provider of treatment and education for the chemically dependent and their families, by offering person-centered care in a safe, serene, and secure refuge for the client to heal from their addiction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs initial interviews & assessments.
- Provides ongoing evaluation of assigned clientele through the collection and synthesis of bio-psychosocial information from clients, families, referral sources, peers, and others as appropriate.
- Demonstrates competencies that reflect current standards of chemical dependency professional knowledge and skills and maintains attitudes consistent with professional practice.
- Consult as needed with Executive Director, Medical Director, Director of Admission, and other team members
- Possesses a working knowledge regarding the delivery of effective drug abuse treatment using evidence-based treatment modalities
- Able to work with diverse populations
Substance Use Dependency Professional Counselor Qualifications/ Required Experience:
- Maintain Substance Use Dependency Professional certification per WAC (Washington Administrative Code) and possess the SUDP credential.
- Respect the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including client/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire.
- Drug-free; no misuse of alcohol or drugs while employed as a Substance Use Dependency Professional.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
