DISCOVER VALDEZ is seeking a high-performing Membership Coordinator to join our team. As the Membership Coordinator, you will be charged with upholding the member relationships and membership database for our membership community, under the lead of the Executive Director. In this position, you will create and foster strong relationships, offering stability and reliability to our Member businesses and Business to Business partnerships.

Job Title:
MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Summary:
As a Membership Coordinator, you will work with the Executive Director to uphold member relationships. You will work alongside a diverse team, under the direction of the Executive Director. You will be tasked with maintaining databases, supporting the Executive Director on invoice processing, and supporting strong member business communication. You may also assist our Team on providing information about Valdez to visitors via phone, email, or in person, and other duties as requested.
Membership Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Process membership applications and renewals.
- Manage membership invoicing and appeals.
- Create and send newsletters and emails.
- Plan and organize member events.
- Build relationships with members and sponsors.
- Respond to member questions, complaints, and information requests.
- Track membership activities.
- Master the membership database and membership benefits, as well as our advertising to offer high knowledge of the membership department.
- Report on membership growth and engagement.
- Develop and manage membership campaigns.

- Calendar Management Expertise: Ability to efficiently manage complex schedules
- Financial processing: Ability to process invoices through our financial platforms; knowledge of basic financial reporting and processing; understanding of accounts payable
- Document Maintenance: Ability to create and maintain documents to support membership
- Marketing and Sales skills are a big plus
Additional duties include:
- Set annual membership and budget goals
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies
- Ensure quality control in all areas of the membership department
- Oversee gift processing and acknowledgements
- Develop relationships with the community
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
Candidate must have:
- High school diploma (or equivalent level of experience and knowledge)
- High level of confidentiality
- Passion for Valdez and the success of its Members
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances.
- Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
