Discover Your Northwest, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit partner of public lands in the Pacific Northwest and Olympic National Forest are hiring a Visitor Information Assistant at the Quinault Ranger Station.
Government housing may be available; local candidates preferred.
Classification: Part-time/Seasonal, Hourly/Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Thursday through Saturday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Position Dates: May 15 – September 30, 2023
Pay: $15.74 per hour
About the Position:
- The primary purpose of the positions is the dissemination of information to the public through various means.
- Assists with the implementation of the visitor information program, coordinating with staff specialists to provide
- accurate, timely information to the public through in-person service hours, responding to phone inquiries and updating social media platforms.
- Performs activities for the front desk when open such as opening and closing, raising, and lowering the flag, and maintaining a front desk presence.
- Manages sale, inventory, and control of various merchandise for Discover Youth Northwest
- Arranges informational interpretive displays in the reception area or visitor center.
- Assists with developing, creating, and posting informational handouts and flyers concerning safety, events, and other items of importance.
- Supports the office by performing such duties as monitoring of field going personnel for safety purposes.
