Target Candidate and Qualifications
We’re seeking candidates who are:
- Skilled educators with 2 years of experience explaining high school-level Grammar, Math, Reading, and Science concepts
- A college student or recent grad who scored 1500 SAT score or 34 ACT score are welcome to apply without meeting experience requirements.
- able to currently score near perfect on the SAT and ACT.
- Has a growth mindset, strong communication skills, and enthusiasm for personalized education.
There's no strict experience requirement. We value intelligence, ability to communicate well with students, and professional motivation higher than experience.
What you'll do:
As a SAT/ACT Specialist with DiscoverCore, you will:
- Provide 1:1 instruction in SAT/ACT preparation.
- Meet weekly with each student for 1 to 1.5 hours, for 2-8 months.
- Manage communications with students and parents with supervisor support.
- Leverage technologies like MIRO, MatchChops, and Evallo to drive high outcomes.
- Use MindPrint cognitive profiles to adapt teaching strategies to each student’s unique learning style.
- Gradually build a roster of students (minimum 6 hours/week, maximum 20 hours/week).
- Conduct sessions in-person at mutually agreed locations (e.g., libraries, students’ homes, schools) or online.
- Be available for some weekend sessions while taking flexibility during weekdays as desired.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rates ranging from $30–$130/hour, based on experience.
