Position Description

JOB TITLE: General Manager – Private Club

DEPARTMENT: Golf

REPORTS TO: Corp Director of Golf Ops, VP of Golf Ops or Other Designated Supervisor

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the successful operation of the golf club and for meeting and exceeding its financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• To sell golf and social memberships and events to corporations and individuals and to create a stable member base.
• To actively create and host a variety of social programming at the club to ensure member retention remains at the highest level and maintain a high level of member satisfaction.
• To develop, recommend, monitor and update annual financial objectives and plans.
• To ensure attainment of financial objectives and plans and to anticipate and address unfavorable variances to the financial objectives and plans and to recommend and implement recovery plans.
• To control labor and other costs.
• To prepare and explain financial reports to management and/or ownership.
• To manage all approved capital projects to budgeted plan.
• To participate in essential community functions and business organizations that support and serve the club.
• To select, develop, retain, motivate and evaluate quality staff and to implement programs designed to enhance employee morale and teamwork.
• To hold managers and department heads accountable for employee, product and service quality standards and expectations, and the physical condition of the club.
• To authorize purchases of supplies and services.
• To oversee Membership sales.
• To ensure that the food and beverage meets the agreed to profit and quality expectations with respect to food quality and member service.
• To assist in the development and execution of a Sales & Marketing Plan for the property on an annual basis.

• We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.

  The expected base wage range for this position is: $105,000 to $140,000 per year. This position is also eligible for additional compensation according to the Company’s policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
