Crisis Counselor (DCR)
** $10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS ** Position is available in Port Townsend, WA. Located on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend is a beautiful Victorian seaport and arts community that offers vast opportunities for recreation, culture, maritime activities, and entertainment.
Discovery Behavioral Healthcare (DBH) is a small, non-profit community mental health center that provides comprehensive outpatient services. Including, the delivery of crisis intervention and evaluation services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The DCR role provides solutions for emergency situations, mobile crisis intervention, clinical assessments, and stabilization services to adults, children, and families. Provides involuntary treatment services according to the Involuntary Treatment Act.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services, brief therapy, and case management
- Perform ITA investigations, evaluations, and associated DCR tasks, including the monitoring and petitioning for less restrictive alternatives (LRA’s)
- Provide screening and triage services by telephone and face-to-face.
- Develop individualized safety plans and treatment recommendations to ensure client and community safety
- Provide joint outreach, support, consultation, and assistance with other clinicians
- Facilitate authorization and extensions for hospitalization
- Perform other mental health evaluations including intake evaluations, etc.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronics and EHR systems
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation practices
When on-call must be locally available within a 2-hours
Required Qualifications
Required: Master's Degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences, BSN in nursing
Required: Meet qualifications for a Mental Health Professional, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or BSN/RN
Have two years post master’s or post-licensure experience in direct treatment of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons.
Valid Washington State Driver’s license and availability of a vehicle
