Discovery Charter School is a cutting-edge charter middle and high school just north of Durham, NC seeking qualified middle and high school teachers.

Job Summary
The math teacher works to help students develop knowledge of mathematical processes, think critically, and apply math in real-world situations. The teacher will be responsible for implementing North Carolina grade-level standards. The teacher will adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum using academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments. They will use data to inform instruction and provide students with meaningful feedback on performance and plan for individual standards aligned curriculum.
The teacher will work closely and collaborate with their team, as well as other departments, to meet all student needs. In addition to core teaching responsibilities, teachers work with students in advisory groups, facilitate a Passion Learning Time period based on their own interest, and fulfill additional duties and responsibilities, such as monitoring lunch and assisting with dismissal.
The right person for this position will be highly flexible, dedicated, energetic, able to work well both individually and in groups, have strong communication skills (written and verbal), have a passion for children, and be able to think creatively out-of-the-box.
Qualifications
- A NC teaching license or currently be working towards licensure is preferred
- Must be a strong communicator, organized, a team player, and strong collaborator
- Must be tech-savvy or open to learning new technologies including virtual reality, 3D printing, using e-readers, teaching remotely, etc.
- Must be a lifelong learner
- Must have a passion for middle school students
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred but not required
