What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dive Maintenance Helper position at Discovery Cove Orlando?
What you get to do:
- Conduct day/night cleaning and maintenance of salt and freshwater pools and tanks while adhering to all environmental regulations.
- Maintain general upkeep of shallow water exhibits to include pressure washing, vacuuming, hull scrubbing, and dredging sand.
- Operate equipment and heavy machinery, such as pressure washer, hull scrubber, vacuum excavator, etc.
- Assist Maintenance Divers with tasks and perform duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull 80 pounds
- Must be able to pass qualifying swim test
- Swimming/physical training required
- Must be able to snorkel
- Must be able to work the overnight shift (approximately anytime from 6pm – 6am)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift, push and pull 100 pounds alone, 300 pounds assisted
Desired Qualifications
