Dr. John Ochsner School seeks a Dean of Students (PK - 8th Grade) with Master’s degree in Education, 5 years of successful teaching/counseling/dean experience. Includes coordination, facilitation and implementation of disciplinary intervention program as well as PBIS program. Motivate students in a positive direction to increase individual decision making responsibilities.
Ability to serve as part of the extended leadership team being solution oriented, planning and facilitating staff meetings and cultural community projects and events. Work cooperatively with the principal, counselor, faculty, students and parents towards a positive school culture. Provide proactive leadership to engage the school community in the delivery of programs and services to support the students’ academic achievement and personal and social development. Ability to successfully work with culturally diverse families and communities and to work successfully and positively with all students providing them with assistance in meeting their academic & behavioral goals.
Experience working with special populations is an asset in this role.
