to apply internally.Atlantic Fields is seeking an Assistant Equipment Manager to join the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
The Assistant Equipment Manager is responsible for supporting the Equipment Director with the repairs and maintenance of all golf course and landscape equipment, irrigation and well field pump stations, electric golf carts, vehicle fleet, and recreational watercrafts. This position will require someone with a strong knowledge of Cutting Units, Drivetrain Systems, Electrical Systems, Engine Technology, Hydraulics Systems, Metal Working and Fabrication, Spray Systems and Fundamentals of Turfgrass Operations.
The Assistant Equipment Manager will be expected to bring exceptional organizational skills to the role and to have great attention to detail. They will need to be logical, methodical, and diverse in their abilities. Within this role, the Assistant Equipment Manager will also coordinate and interact with outside contractors and vendors, and may interact with Members, sales prospects, and guests. They should possess strong interpersonal skills no matter who they are interacting with and should be able to lead with clear direction and encouragement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Results Area #1 – Equipment Care
The Assistant Equipment Manager's primary role is to make certain all equipment is reliable, safe, and operating well. The Assistant Equipment Manager will train team members on the safe and proper operation of the equipment, preventative maintenance, fueling and cleaning. Responsible for repairing all maintenance equipment according to the specifications and highest professional standards particular to each item. Preventative maintenance must be implemented to extend equipment life, prevent breakdowns and increase worker safety. Communicates any needs or issues related to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Golf Course Superintendent and prioritizes accordingly. Completes daily on course checks to insure proper performance, quality of cut and safe operation of equipment. May be required to make emergency repairs in the field. Be available for extended hours/on-call during tournaments, aerification operations, storm cleanup, or other urgent situations that may arise.
Key Results Area #2 – Total Shop Management
Must provide a clean, organized shop area that gives the team a sense of pride in their workplace and promotes professionalism that will be carried onto the golf course. Develop a replacement parts program for golf maintenance, proactively timing purchases with forethought of potential processing and/or delivery delays to ensure uninterrupted daily maintenance and reduced equipment down time. Maintain sound records for equipment and parts inventory, purchases, fuel/lubricant usage, equipment conditions, and cost of repairs for all equipment. Responsible for the security of parts, equipment, and tools stored in the repair shop. The Assistant Equipment Manager will ensure departmental compliance with OSHA and be the Safety Officer for the golf course department. Work directly with the Equipment Director to develop Capital Equipment purchases, leasing options and Operational Budgets.
Key Results Area #3 – Environmental Management
Commitment to a positive stewardship for the environment with regards for equipment usage, maintenance, and cleaning. Adherence to proper recycling and disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids, including oil, antifreeze, etc. Participate in the development of a property wide recycling program that supports Atlantic Fields goals, environmental responsibility and property sustainability.

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
