Fitness Attendant

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, set outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Fitness Attendant to join the Well-being Department.

The Fitness Attendant will be key contributor to creating a warm environment in our Fitness Facilities. The Fitness Attendant will welcome members and guests to the Gym and assist them in utilizing the facility and introducing them to the personal trainers when required. The Fitness Attendant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the fitness areas and help with general fitness operations. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

• Member Interactions
  • Greet members with a warm, friendly and sincere welcome upon arrival.
  • Educate members about equipment and services available in the gym.
  • Provide members with a thorough and knowledgeable understanding fitness services, and provide details of products or services available to the membership.
  • Actively promote the Fitness Program, treatments, retail, and available promotions.
  • Provide anticipatory service to members while they are visiting, including asking if they are interested in any beverage and or snack offering.
  • Listens and addresses member requests and responds with appropriate action and provides accurate information.
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of respect, sensitivity and concern for members needs and issues in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Fitness Operations
  • Responsible for inventory and stocking all guest supplies and linens.
  • Assists with daily set up of food and beverage items and equipment, and replenishing Fitness Comfort Station.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly presentation of all retail items.
  • Communicate with the Fitness Manager regarding low inventory.
  • Communicates any maintenance/general cleanliness issues to the Fitness Manager.
• Fitness Cleanliness
  • Conduct daily checklist of cleaning and inspection, noting inconsistencies and accuracies and communicating to the Fitness Manager.
  • Responsible for setting up equipment in movement studio for each class.
  • Pick-up and return loose equipment to designated area throughout the day.
  • Empty trashcans and dispose bulk garbage in designated bins throughout the day.
  • Wipe down equipment after use
  • Clean and maintain all fixtures, woodwork, walls, and windows, as well as additional parking lot cleanup, as needed.
  • Vacuum daily and as needed throughout the day, moving furniture and equipment, as needed to insure thoroughness.
  • Dispose of all soiled laundry in designated bins throughout the day.
  • Thoroughly clean sinks, mirrors, glass, countertops, walls, vents, windowsills, equipment, and floors throughout the fitness center.
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, and disinfection standards in compliance with, or exceeding, State and OSHA requirements, and DLC SOPs and guidelines.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Additional degrees and certifications preferred.
• Prior experience in luxury resorts, spas, or private clubs, preferred.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work well alone.
• Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly personality.
• Knowledge and understanding of all fitness services and operations.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
