Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Dean of Student Affairs to lead and enhance student development and well-being across our K-12 school district. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students. This role requires a leader committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, inclusion, and overall student success.
The Dean of Student Affairs will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of student support programs, managing student behavior, and ensuring that students receive the resources they need to thrive both academically and emotionally. The position involves significant collaboration with school leaders, teachers, counselors, parents, and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement student support programs that address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs for K-12 students.
- Develop and enforce policies related to student behavior, attendance, and academic conduct, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Provide crisis management support, ensuring resources and intervention strategies are available during student emergencies or crises.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support and well-being.
- Analyze student performance and behavioral data to identify at-risk students, and develop targeted interventions to improve student outcomes.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students feel valued and can achieve academic success.
- Lead professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to enhance their ability to support student development and address behavioral challenges.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to provide guidance and support for students’ academic and emotional needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in student services, school leadership, or a related field (K-12 experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent development, with expertise in managing behavioral challenges and supporting student well-being.
- Strong crisis management skills with experience providing intervention strategies in high-stress situations.
- Proven ability to analyze student data and develop effective strategies for student success.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Experience in implementing policies and strategies that promote equity and inclusion in educational environments.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster an environment of respect and inclusivity.
