Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our STEM-focused school. The ideal candidate will inspire students to apply mathematical principles to real-world challenges and foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This role involves creating a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that integrates math with science, technology, engineering, and other STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging math curriculum that aligns with state and national standards while incorporating STEM concepts.
- Lead hands-on, project-based learning experiences that promote collaboration, problem-solving, and real-world applications of math.
- Collaborate with science, technology, and engineering teachers to create interdisciplinary STEM projects.
- Integrate technology and innovative tools into lessons to enhance student understanding of math concepts.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore and take risks.
- Provide constructive feedback, assess student progress, and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Lead extracurricular STEM activities, such as math clubs and competitions, to deepen student engagement with STEM fields.
- Continuously participate in professional development to stay up-to-date with trends in STEM education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related STEM field.
- Valid Florida teaching certification for middle school math (grades 6-8) or eligibility for certification through approved routes.
- At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle school or STEM-focused setting.
- Strong understanding of middle school math instruction and curriculum design.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to support STEM learning.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
