Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive, engaging, and rigorous learning environment for students. As an ELA teacher, you will inspire students to become strong readers, writers, and communicators while instilling a love for literature and language. This role requires an individual who can create a supportive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of students and helps them achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards.
• Teach a variety of English Language Arts concepts, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and the development of effective communication skills.
• Assess students' progress through formal and informal evaluations, including quizzes, tests, writing assignments, and class participation.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs and English language learners.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them improve their academic performance.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary units and contribute to the overall school curriculum.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic goals.
• Participate in school-wide activities, including professional development, meetings, and extracurricular events as needed.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that fosters respect and enthusiasm for learning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid state certification to teach English Language Arts at the middle school level.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching English Language Arts in a middle school setting.
• Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and best teaching practices.
• Ability to design and implement a variety of assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive, supportive environment for students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
• Passion for helping students succeed academically and personally.
• Dedication to ongoing professional development and improving instructional practices.
