Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing dynamic, engaging lessons that promote physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles for elementary school students. This role requires an individual who is committed to creating a positive and safe learning environment, monitoring student progress, and fostering a love for physical activity among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons that align with state and national standards, incorporating physical fitness, motor skills, and sportsmanship.
- Use student assessments to track progress and make necessary adjustments to lesson plans.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment during physical activities, ensuring student safety and positive behavior.
- Actively support school-wide behavioral programs and provide guidance on building positive behaviors.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in school events and community engagement activities.
- Plan and organize school-wide events like field days, monitor PE equipment, and prepare lesson plans for substitutes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field.
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Physical Education or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of child development and motor skill progression for elementary students.
- Ability to create creative, age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
