About Us:
Discovery Years is a nurturing and engaging early childhood education center committed to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for young children. We are currently expanding our team and seeking a compassionate and energetic Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our growing program!
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated assistant teacher to support the lead teacher in our infant and toddler classrooms. The ideal candidate will provide a warm, safe, and stimulating environment while assisting with daily routines, engaging activities, and individualized care for each child.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Support infants and toddlers with daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, and napping.
- Engage children in sensory play, early learning activities, and social-emotional development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff about children’s progress and needs.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines in accordance with licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting preferred.
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, kindness, and a nurturing approach to childcare.
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CDA or early childhood education coursework is a plus.
