What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Discovery Zone Kids?
Discovery Zone Kids is looking for a Summer Camp Counselor to run its Summer Camp. We will either place a teacher to do the early part of the camp (7am to 12 noon) and a teacher to do the afternoon part of the camp (12noon to 6pm) or a teacher to do before and aftercare (7am to 9am and then 3pm to 6pm) and a teacher to do 9am to 3pm part of the camp. The main thing we are looking for in a candidate is the ability to lead a group of about 20-30 children. Priority will be given to teachers with experience in working with elementary school children. Our campers are 5 to 12 years old. The camp starts when the school year ends in Columbia County and ends when the school year starts in Columbia County.
As with all of our other employees, you will be asked to go through a background check, get CPR and First Training and some other job related training. Most of these you will have to complete before you start working with children.
