Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH is seeking an Earth Station Operations (ESO) Engineer I who can design, develop, manufacture, install, provide engineering analysis and repair ESO radio-frequency (RF) equipment, components, and systems. The scope of this job includes project management skills and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) of RF equipment involved in operating a large 24x7 satellite communications earth station. The right candidate will also be required to work outdoors in all elements, be able to lift 75 pounds, climb ladders, operate a motor vehicle and work at heights up to 50 feet. Rotating shift work, working during holidays and weekends will also be required. This individual will be the primary on-shift SME technical resource for the on-shift personnel. This individual must be able to organize, train, lead, and delegate tasks with the department. Previous experience in a supervisory role beneficial.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure continuous customer support to all EchoStar, Dish Network and all other internal and external customers using SOP related procedures
- Experience as a leader in the RF field. Proven ability to drive special projects to completion and serve as a technical expert and consultant. Proficient at reviewing and recommending changes to established policies and procedures
- Primary resource for troubleshooting and repair of all ESO equipment components, which includes antenna drive mechanisms, transmission amplifiers, waveguide assemblies, cabling, and fiber optic systems
- Supervisory responsibilities to include managing shift workload for the ESO department, ESO Technicians and Engineers in lieu of the shift Supervisor
- Ability to train technicians / engineers on equipment operation, troubleshooting, established policies and procedures. Able to mentor new employees and peers. Collaborates cross-functionally with other engineering teams
- Coordinates with vendors to complete engineering projects and / or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) items
- Use RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, synthesized sweepers, and network analyzers and common handheld tools as required

A valid DOT motor vehicle license is required to operate our aerial lift. The aerial lift is operated on company property and parking lots in the vicinity of other motor vehicles to access antenna components outside of the personnel safety boundaries installed on the antennas.

Compensation : $65,800.00 / Year - $82,000.00 / Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
