DISHER, in partnership with a military consulting company, is seeking an experienced Senior Maritime Engineer to support Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in advancing research and development (R&D) initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovative projects, provide expert consultation, and tackle complex engineering challenges in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Provide expert consultation and strategic direction on high-level engineering projects.

Travel to customer facilities as needed to provide hands-on technical support and oversight.

What You'll Get to Do:
- Serve as Senior Maritime Engineer to control development of assigned R&D technology
- Drive engineering project execution, develop and recommend technical guidance, track and report on
- status, and resolve blocking issues
- Provide subject matter expertise with system analysis, design, delivery, verification, and
- troubleshooting of designated systems
- Generate technical documents, such as test plans and procedures
- Coordinate cross-team efforts spanning internal customers and external partners
- Interface with external agencies supporting systems engineering, architecture, and/or design
- Manage Change Control across several systems
- Scope the Industrial Control System Hardware and Software Requirements for a given industrial
- process
- Write specifications manufacturers will use to prepare labor and material cost estimates
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Chemical or Mechanical
- Engineering will be considered
- Must be familiar with Industrial motors, electric generators, and electrical systems
- Experience with Shipyard and Port power systems, logistical systems, PLC’s or etc
- Must have ability to read and understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- Experience with marine/ship systems design and engineering preferred
- Experience with various vehicles/boats and shop spaces is a plus
- Experience with FAT testing marine electrical and automation systems is a plus
- Experience with hydraulic schematics is a plus
- 2 years experience as an engineering leader, project/program manager
- 5 years experience is required / 8 to 10 years experience is preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental engineering concepts/principles/theories and standard engineering methodologies
- Ability to clearly articulate, verbally and in writing, new concepts and capabilities to the team and customers
